Karen McCoy has been interested in tiny living since 2015. So much so, that in 2016 she sold her home, moved in with her Mom and began building her own tiny home. Now that her 400 square foot tiny house is nearing completion, she turned her attention to identifying the perfect location for her tiny house with the desire to live in a tiny village.
“There are a lot of people interested in tiny house living, but are no places in Acadiana specifically designated and approved for tiny houses. It has long been my vision to establish a tiny house village,” says Karen. “I found a beautiful setting in rural Carencro, Louisiana, not far off of I49 that is convenient, yet private that I plan to develop. The 5 acre site can accommodate up to ten 1/2 acre tiny house homesites with 10, and then 20 acre, tracts available for expansion. I envision a common gathering space and other amenities that myself and other tiny home enthusiasts could share.”
We, at Tee Tiny Houses, are supportive of Karen’s efforts and would like to do everything we can to help her vision come to life. It’s going to take a village to make this happen. Karen needs residents, investment and advocacy for coding and zoning acceptance. So we are reaching out to the awesome network we’ve established to ask for your support.
